Yeah I tried that dfsutil command last night had to download support tools to no avail. This thing really needs some TLC. I keep working though other issues but the major one with GP not being able to access policies via DFS persist. This all clearly began after the quickbooks update choked - you can tell by the system event logs as immediately after that is when the GP errors cropped up. The files are there. To clarify, though the path to that gpt.
Just not via DFS. Well this issue seems to be resolved since some changes last Wed night - waiting to make one final change tomorrow, but for minor client-level stuff. There were multiple issues here but primarily the fact that their DNS actually was all misconfigured - that's what had DFS jacked up.
It was specifically the default domain controllers policy, but they really aren't using group policy for anything and truth be told I'm surprised they have a genuine server at all. I'm pretty sure dcgpofix remedied this, but regardless that template is fresh, the GP error is gone, and gpresult shows all systems go. This is the only error on one of our servers, and it does not seem to be affecting operations. I am investigating cautiously, but as long as it does not pose an immediate threat I will take my time doing so.
This is on a remote server in Fairbanks, an we are in Anchorage. This company has had it's share of worthless IT folks pass through here in the years prior to me taking over, and every now and again I find something like this and have to sift through things to find out who did what in order to fix it.

We had to open the, so called, platform layer and this solve the issue.
