Update on 6th pay commission




















The Department of Expenditure , under the Ministry of Finance, had recently put out a memorandum earlier in the month of August, regarding the revised rates of the Dearness Allowance DA to employees of the central government and central autonomous bodies.

This memorandum and the changes within were set to apply to the above employees of the above-mentioned employment, who are still drawing their salary in the pre-revised grade pay as per the 5th pay commission and the 6th pay commission. The DA was previously sitting at 17 per cent, but with the hike of 11 per cent, the total DA stands at 28 per cent now. This was set to take effect from July. At the same time, contract employees will now be regularized in 2 years in three years. Notification has been issued in this regard. With this decision, the salary of the employees will increase from 4 to 30 thousand.

Employees will get 28 percent Dearness Allowance in the new pay commission. The order of DA has been issued separately. With the new pay commission, the grade pay system and the Assured Career Progression Scheme of will be abolished, but step up facility will be available. The same arrears will be available when the government decides, although other allowances including HRA-TA will continue to be available according to the previous pay commission. Notification has also been issued to give 28 percent dearness allowance to the employees.
